In mid-June, I joined TFW Briarcliff and committed to a 4-day regular schedule of classes with Susan’s training team, healthy eating and calorie monitoring with John. It has been 5 months and I am down 25 pounds with increased muscle mass. I also like the way I look and fit into my clothes.
What helped me stay focused was joining with a good friend (my sister-in-law) and making new friends in the classes. Everyone participates with the flexibility to modify the planned workouts to their own abilities. There is plenty of variety across the classes so that no one is ever bored or disappointed. The training team and other TFW members are wonderfully encouraging and celebrate each other’s “wins”, whether it be achieving a new weight goal or simply finishing the workout!
This investment in myself has been life-changing and empowering for me. It’s not a lot of time out of the week either. I like it better than a traditional gym because of the semi-private training class format and the welcome feeling I always get when I show up for each class. Feeling like you belong and having others count on you to be there are great motivators to plan gym class into your busy schedule.
